About the Mid Shore Board of REALTORS® |
|||
The Board dates back to 1953, when nine local real estate companies formed the Talbot County Real Estate Board. In 1998, a merger took place between the Talbot and Dorchester County Boards, creating the Mid-Shore Board of REALTORS® which now serves Caroline County, as well. The Mid-Shore Board of REALTORS® offers many opportunities for professional development and networking. Continuing education classes and seminars keep members connected and up-to-date on the latest industry trends and practices. Some programs, such as the Rookie REALTOR Society and the annual Regional Symposium on Housing Affordability, are conducted in collaboration with other local associations and with the Maryland Association of REALTORS®. Members always have "an ear to the ground" through a legislative affairs committee that actively follows federal, state and local real estate issues affecting the tri-county area. Members of the Mid-Shore Board of REALTORS® have pledged adherence to the Code of Ethics established by the National Association of REALTORS®. In the event that a dispute arises between REALTOR® members of the Board, a professional standards panel is in place to hear the matter and make recommendations. The Mid-Shore Board of REALTORS® subscribes to the Metropolitan Regional Information System (MRIS). Charitable donations are managed through the Mid-Shore REALTOR® Foundation. |
